We have been thinking about our school rules and how we can be respectful and responsible this week.

We have made lists of how to be a good friend and how to be kind to others. I was impressed with lots of the ideas.

As part of working together as a team we have been trying out some co-operative games.

We played Pass the Stretch, Balloon Bop and Pass the hoop. They were quite funny!!

This week we had a beach theme in Room 7. 

We did some beach art - painting rocks and shells and turning them into creatures. We made fish puppets. We did footprints ready to turn into jandal art. 

We also looked at some safety instructions about how to stay safe at the beach and how to look after the beach and the ocean.

We're hoping that all this beach work will make the Summer weather appear!

We were so lucky this week. The lovely people from Countdown came to visit us. They were celebrating 2 years of free fruit for kids and decided to bring us some fruit! It was delicious!

We also started our cricket lessons. It was so much fun. The coach had lots of games to help teach us cricket skills. I think there may be some future Blackcaps in Room 7.

We have been thinking about Diwali this week.

We have listened to the story about Rama and Sita and described some of the characters in our writing.

We have made lanterns and finger puppets - and acted out the story.

We also lit candles and described the flames.
